Conversation with Dr. Eugene McGowan: African American School Psychologist and Community Leader

Dr. Eugene McGowan was the first African American school psychologist in the state of Delaware. He was active in civil rights activities as a member of the board of both state and Wilmington branches of the NAACP, and was especially involved in voter registration efforts in the 1960s. The film is based on extended oral interviews with Dr. McGowan and includes period photographs and music.

A production of the Hagley Museum and Library made possible by the Longwood Foundation and was partly funded by grants from the Delaware Humanities Forum, a state program of the National Endowment of the Humanties.
